Lifesavers do the Far North proud
JUNIOR lifesavers from Cairns Surf Life Saving Club did the region proud at the recent North Australian surf life saving championships at Mackay.
Dylan Anderson was among the youngsters to bag a medal, heading home as the under-11 boys champion. Cairns SLSC president Doug McKinstry said the 2009 competitive season had been satisfying for the Palm Cove club.
For surf lifesavers in the Far North, the competitive season ends as the stinger season begins, though patrols continue year round to help keep beachgoers and swimmers safe.
