A CAMPAIGN aimed at encouraging a healthy lifestyle without alcohol abuse in indigenous communities has earned a Cairns business the Bob Hale Award.
The award, presented at the Queensland Multi-Media Awards, was presented to the FNQ Film Company for its "Which Way, Our Way" campaign.
The campaign was designed as part of Queensland Health’s "Closing the Gap" strategy.
FNQ Film Company spokesman Richard Chapelle said the campaign was "tightly crafted" to meet the Queensland Health brief.
"The key to gaining the attention of indigenous people in communities is to speak their language or rather their local or street language," he said.
"The message needed to have a familiar approach, be non-preaching, non-demanding, yet dramatic and graphic.
"Our concept was a reflection of a message which is prevalent throughout these communities."
As well as the Bob Hale Award the "our way" concept won FNQ Film Company best logo concept, best TV commercial over $7500, and best TV advertising campaign.
