A FINANCIAL rescue package is being put together to reopen one of Cairns' biggest nightclubs.
McLaren Knight administrator Justin Cadman said all the parties involved had 24 hours to provide details of the package for The Heritage.
He said a backer had agreed to assist the owners reopen the Lake St business as soon as possible.
The club closed on Monday and was placed in voluntary administration, the staff terminated and the business put up for sale.
It was advertised in yesterday’s The Cairns Post as "offers invited in-situ to walk in and commence trading".
Property manager Danny Betros, the managing director of CB Richard Ellis Cairns, said he had been approached by a number of people interested in taking over the business.
The venue, which is in the former Central Hotel on the corner of Lake and Spence streets, was refurbished about a year ago.
It is owned by Simon Friend-James who earlier said tough economic times had hurt the business. It opened in September 2008, almost a year after nightclub Tropos closed for good.
He worked on the Lake St venue for almost a year with the aim of creating a "warm and inviting experience" and keeping the historic appeal of the site.
