Jetstar's new services to Japan

Details of Jetstar's new services to Osaka, Japan from Cairns, Australia.

Jetstar is the largest airline operating between Australia and Japan, with an existing total of 21 weekly return services. 

On 1 December 2009 Jetstar announced the commercial launch of  a four times weekly direct A330 Cairns-Osaka service, to commence from 1 April 2010*. 

Pending the commercial launch of this service, from April 2010 Jetstar will operate a total of 25 weekly services between Australia and Japan*.

Jetstar launched its first international services to Japan from Australia on 25 March 2007 with a daily Sydney-Osaka-Brisbane service.  

On 18 December 2008, Jetstar commenced international services to Narita International Airport (Tokyo) from Cairns and the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia.

Jetstar offers the following existing services:

  • A daily A330-200 two class return service between Cairns-Toyko (Narita);
  • A daily A330-200 two class return service between the Gold Coast-Tokyo (Narita), with a six times weekly A330-200 tag service to Sydney;
  • A daily A330-200 two class return service between Gold Coast-Osaka, with a six-times weekly A330-200 tag service to Sydney.

Jetstar services Japan with its long haul fleet of Airbus A330 aircraft, with a two-class cabin seating 265 passengers in economy and 38 in StarClass (Jetstar’s premium cabin).
