PORT Douglas' push to attract President Barack Obama to visit is the talk of the Far North.

The Cairns Post yesterday revealed the seaside holiday haven had emerged as a frontrunner for inclusion in the presidential family's Australian itinerary, after White House expressed interest in the town's invitation.

The news of the President's possible Far North Queensland visit has set tongues wagging throughout the region.

Speaking with Sea FM's Mark Littler yesterday afternoon, Port Douglas Daintree Tourism boss Doug Ryan said discussions with the White House were ongoing.

"We've had about nine emails back from his department ... so we're hoping maybe we can get him up here to Port Douglas," Mr Ryan said.

Tell us why you think President Obama should visit Far North Queensland. What are your recommendations as the region's must-see attractions or best activities? Post your invitation.
