What better way to relax after a long day holidaying in the Cairns region than grabbing a drink and a bite to eat as the sun goes down?
The tourist hotspot of Port Douglas (pictured) is renowned for its spectacular sunsets and taking a look at this stunning picture you will see why.
But sunsets aren’t the only thing of interest in Port Douglas – it features some of the region’s best luxury hotels, restaurants, bars and shopping as well.
It is one of the closest points to access the stunning natural wonders of the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest (with the picturesque Mossman Gorge only minutes drive away too!).
There is also a fantastic Sunday market on the waterfront that attracts both traders and shoppers from across the region with great souvenirs, clothing, art, crafts, jewellery, local produce and bric-a-brak.
Port Douglas is located just under an hour’s drive north of Cairns on the Captain Cook Highway.
