Police appeal for fatal crash witnesses
UPDATE: The drivers of a red Nissan ute and a white sedan could hold vital information about the horror crash that claimed the life of Edmonton woman Phyllis Crooks.
The Cairns Police Forensic Crash Unit is continuing investigations crash, which happened on the Bruce Highway at Woree about 5.20am on Saturday.
Police have released details of two vehicles that were seen on Anderson Rd just before to the crash.
Investigators believe the drivers may have witnessed a silver Holden Commodore sedan being driven erratically near the intersections of Loretta Ave, Anderson Rd and the Bruce Highway.
Police are anxious to speak with the driver a of a red Nissan utility.The vehicle is possibly an ’80s model and was being driven by a male, believed to be in his 50s, who was wearing work clothes.
There was also a white sedan in Anderson Rd near the red Nissan utility but police have no details in relation to the driver.
Any other persons who may have knowledge of, or may have witnessed the events leading up to the crash are urged to contact Cairns police on 4030 7000 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
