Warehouses up for grabs
AGENTS are chasing buyers for two adjoining corner properties and four large warehouses which previously housed Port Douglas Timber and Hardware.
Colliers International Cairns is seeking offers to buy the properties on behalf of Peter Morris of Foremans Business Advisors as trustee of a bankrupt estate.
The properties cover an area of more than 4200sq m and have four industrial buildings with 1700sq m under cover.
All stock and assets have been sold so the new owner will get vacant possession.
The buildings previously had a main showroom and administration complex, secondary showroom and offices, open timber shed and storage shed.
The properties are fenced in and there is parking and room for a drive-through.
Other features include three-street frontage to Owen St, off Owen and Boer streets in the Craiglie industrial precinct.
The properties are set over two titles so the new owner can treat each title independently.
"The Port Douglas area is developing and will continue to do so," Colliers International Cairns managing director Stacey Quaid said.
"This is a great opportunity for some kind of retail, industrial or even storage type use to cater for existing and potential future demand.
"Given that the business has been closed and stock and plant and equipment auctioned off, the freehold property is all that remains to be sold by the trustee.
"The chance for a buyer to secure large prime properties at a price dictated by current market conditions should not be missed."
