Interest aplenty in Mission Beach

OVERSEAS and interstate buyers have led the way in inquiries for a beachfront gated community at Mission Beach, agents say.

Ray White Invest Private manager George Ajaka said blocks on the Rise@Mission development at Mission Beach had begun to sell. Lots in the 26-lot subdivision range from 596sq m to 895sq m.

"The project is attracting good interest from local, interstate and international buyers,’’ Mr Ajaka said.

"Local buyers are predominately retirees looking to downsize and move to a resort location.

"We have not received much interest from young owner occupiers. This is not a surprise given the location of Mission Beach and the lifestyle.

"Interstate buyers, predominately from Victoria and New South Wales, are looking to purchase a holiday home while international buyers are a mix of investors and tourists keen to secure a holiday in Australia. The international buyers are from Asia, coming from China, Japan and Indonesia. They normally have an agent acting on their behalf, but they are attracted to Queensland because of factors like the mining boom and they just want a good place to get away.’’

Smaller blocks are available for under $200,000. The site also has views of the Coral Sea and Dunk Island. Construction of the project was completed mid-year and the past few months have been spent adding finishing touches including gates and landscaping as well as the registration process with government authorities.

Buyers are expected to start building their homes early next year.

Rise@Mission was developed by Ray White Invest Private along with landscape designers JNP Pawsey & Prowse and North Queensland architect Gordon Beath of Studio Edge Design.

"The estate has a gated entrance to provide secure access for residents and it features tropically landscaped boulevards and expansive gardens to allow for exercising and socialising with other residents," he said.
