"PRUDEY nudies" are making way for more titillating adult adventures, according to owners of the ever-evolving White Cockatoo resort at Mossman.

Owners Tony and Lenore Fox said the resort's first dedicated "Adults Only" swinger season, which kicked off on New Year's Day, was proving to be a bumper, with the accommodation house one of only a few in the area boasting a near full house.

"The prudey nudey market has certainly diminished worldwide for the past couple of years," Mr Fox said.

"More and more places are doing what we're doing and pushing even more left of centre.

"Ten years ago being a nudist was left of centre but people are becoming a little blase - they want the opportunity to explore new things."

The couple had toyed with the idea of a "swingers season" in the past, and said they relied predominantly on the domestic market but visitors came from as far afield as the United Arab Emirates, Canada, Mauritius, America and Europe.

And for anyone who wants a piece of the action, the time is ripe, with the three-star resort's long-time owners putting their digs up for sale.

"We've been here eight years now and we're ready for something new," Mr Fox said.

"I really hope anyone looking at buying the resort will stay left field."

Full disclosure:Tony and Lenore Fox are set to sell their White Cockatoo resort.
