LITTLE BLACK DRESS: My last attempt at Saturday casual met with mixed response: creative and accessorised well, but too many layers and apronly (which sounds appropriately similar to matronly).

So I must admit that I did approach this next attempt at casual with a little trepidation.

And look what happened today as a result … there's a little bit too much hippy going on here.

My somewhat left-leaning tendencies sprang forth and I instinctively reached for the comfort of long strands of seed beads, tie bottom trousers and multi-coloured bangles.  Plus the waistcoat is a staple music festival piece that has seen me through hours of barefoot reggae dancing. Can you just make out the faint Bob Marley rhythms beating in the distance?

And before you ask, the only herbal assistance involved in choosing this outfit was a pot of tea.

So, dust the gloves off and let me know what you think.

Considering I've still got three Saturdays to go, I'm especially keen to find out your suggestions for going casual in the LBD.

It's a very tough assignment, particularly in this weather of late.
