LITTLE BLACK DRESS: You may gasp at my seemingly crazy idea of wearing a long sleeved coat during the height of FNQ summer, however this linen and silk number is completely cool to wear.

A linen jacket isn’t something that I have ever necessarily wanted or needed to own, but this one was on sale and the $ savings were just too good to pass by! All you need to justify the purchase is at least one thing in your wardrobe you know will go with it.

I had originally intended to wear the jacket as part of my “registry wedding outfit” last July, however a couple of op shops got in the way and before you knew it I had registry wedding outfit #2 and #3 added to the pile.  Then along came the reality of trying to actually book a registry wedding.  It would have been easier to find a 5-star hotel on a Saturday in Spring.  Servicing a population of more than 150,000 people, the Cairns Courthouse has the capacity to undertake a whopping four (15 minute) wedding ceremonies per week.  I wonder how many divorces are processed in the very same building in a week?

We ended up marrying by the beach in wedding outfit #4.
