Let's get physical
LITTLE BLACK DRESS: During a recent lunchtime trip to Rusty's Market, I took the time to gaze through the windows at Kaotica and spied a great belt.
In no time at all I was in the shop, had the belt around my waist and was parading in front of the mirror trying to decide if it was “me”. A fellow customer asked me whether I liked the belt. Still making up my mind I replied yes, I think I did. The fact that the customer was a five year old girl left me completely unprepared for her next question: was I aware that an animal had died to make the belt? Before I could close the gaping hole that had formed in place of my mouth and attempt a reply, Sandra, the owner of the shop, came to my aid and confirmed that yes it was leather and the very finest pig skin at that. Still reeling from the shock of being lectured to by a 5 year old vegan, I politely tried on the pink vinyl belt the girl handed me as her preferred non-leather alternative.
Despite my initial waves of guilt, I left the shop with the beautiful black pig skin belt I am wearing today.
And without any idea of whether these earrings were made using ethically sourced timber beads and silver wire, I do insist that any jewellery junkies out there visit Shiva Moon and ask about their new range of goodies made locally in Julatten. But don’t be disappointed if the biggest and best of the earrings have already been sold!

LITTLE BLACK DRESS: My aim today was to try and create an LBD version of the tuxedo - a white button-up shirt and some creative tucks in the fabric to simulate coat tails.
