Cairns' new LILO bar has it all
Chillax: New Cairns bar LILO is a little bit LA, a little bit Vegas and very, very Cairns.
If you're after a hip new place to chill out in Cairns, have we got the spot for you. It's a little bit LA, a little bit Vegas and very, very Cairns.
LILO ... A Wet Bar opened last month, promising a chic, funky place to hang out, enjoy music, share a drink, go for a swim or all of the above.
LILO is on the terraced rooftops of Rydges Plaza Cairns, overlooking the always-vibrant Grafton St.
The bar offers a choice of five indoor and outdoor areas. Have a drink and a chat by the bar or relax with friends in one of the funky lounge areas.
Even better, for those sultry tropical days and nights, stake out a place by the pool or hire your own private cabana.
And then there’s the food – we have sampled some of the delectable treats on offer (it’s a tough job but someone has to do it).
Absolutely perfect for sharing with friends is the Big Ass Burger – a menu option that must be seen to be believed (it really is big, living up to its name).
For the faint of heart, have a go at the sliders – a delicious set of mini-burgers (they really are small).
Overall, we found the menu to be fun and fairly eclectic, perfect for a light snack over a post-work vino or something more substantial, perhaps in preparation for a big night out.
Make sure you try the parmesan crusted asparagus fries – it’s a good idea not to plan to share with friends, it’ll be a fight to the bitter end over who gets the last one.
LILO opens all day, from sun up to well after dark and it offers a little bit of summer all year round. Don’t be the last ones in town to make this your new favourite hangout. We’ll see you there ...
LILO ... A Wet Bar is at the Corner of Spence and Grafton streets, Level 3, Rydges Plaza Cairns. Open noon until late. Ph: 4046 3330.
