PORT Douglas has been named one of Australia's top five most stylish weekend getaway destinations.
The popular seaside holiday spot is the only Queensland location included on the list, compiled by news.com.au.
"With a tropical climate all year-round, Port Douglas is the place to get away from it all," the listing reads.
"If you take a slow drive up the Queensland coast, it is the perfect 'stop' point for a few days.
"The biggest decision is where and what to eat.
"There is Four Mile Beach, the Reef and Daintree to see in between staying in a private villa or bigger hotel like the Sheraton Mirage or Pool."
The other top-five destinations were Rae's of Wategos at Byron Bay, South Australia's Kangaroo Island, Crown Casino in Melbourne and the Margaret River wine region in Western Australia.
