THREE stick-wielding teenagers have been charged over a hold-up at a Tableland service station.

Two 15-year-olds and a 16-year-old boy from Atherton will face the Atherton Magistrate's Court on one count of robbery with violence following an alleged raid on the Mobil service station, 5km south of Atherton.

Police say the teens entered the service station at 10.30pm on Tuesday armed with two sticks and a hockey stick and stole cigarettes.

Atherton officer-in-charge acting Sen Sgt Steven Bakss said police will allege a male attendent was told not to move while one of the offenders went behind the counter and took cigarettes.

He said they later fled the scene on foot before being questioned after a police investigation.

"The male attended was frightened and startled by the incident," he said.

The 16-year-old will appear in court today while the other two, both aged 15, will appear on Tuesday.
