CLASSICAL music buffs can watch North Queensland's top teenage musicians perform in a special concert at Woree tomorrow.
More than 100 students from 23 schools from as far away as Townsville, Ayr, Weipa and Proserpine will be taking part in Griffith University’s Young Conservatorium program.
Students have the opportunity to work with highly regarded musicians and conductors from Brisbane over a weekend of intensive workshops.
The program will culminate in a concert, with entry by a gold coin donation, at 1.30pm on Sunday at St Mary’s Catholic College at Woree.
Program manager Sheree Clem, from Queensland Conservatorium, said it would be a high-calibre performance.
"It puts all the best students in North Queensland together," she said.
"It will have some of the highest-calibre performers you will get in North Queensland."
The concert will feature three ensembles: a string orchestra, choral group and concert wind band.
