Local singer-songwriter Jeremiah is about to drop his new album, and he wants you to come celebrate with him

Homeland is the new album from Jeremiah, an insightful look into one of the region’s busiest and most talented musicians.

Created with the assistance of a Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) grant, Homeland is the culmination of years of blood, sweat and tears for this travelling troubadour.

Jeremiah Johnson has been performing for 15 years, has more than 100 registered works with APRA and has found his way on to the billing of many events including the Yungaburra Folk Festival, The Village Folk Festival in Yepoon, Aliamos Festival in West End, Wallaby Creek Music Festival, Mission Beach Festival, Committed To Change Festival, The Peace Convergence Festival, Envirofiesta and the Camden Haven Music Festival.

According to Jeremiah, Homeland is the best representation of his music to date.

"I feel excited to be able to share this new project with a wider audience than previous works," he says.

"Every step of the way, I have worked with people who have given extra time and energy towards every aspect of the CD during its recording, designing, event and manufacturing stages.

"Good friends and commitment from professionals in Cairns has also been a huge factor in its high standard.

"I am happy with the songs and the way it sounds, and I trust you will enjoy it soon."

>> Jeremiah launches Homeland on Friday at the Rondo Theatre on Greenslopes St, Edge Hill, from 7pm. Entry is $5, with CDs available on the night. Jeremiah is supported by the founding members of the Whatever Junk Orchestra, Barunka of the Czech Republic and Steve Baker.

Homeward bound: Jeremiah will release his latest album Homeland at the Rondo on Friday night.
