BARRON Valley Gymnastic Club members Mikayla Adams and Tia See-Kee might need to reinforce the shelves in their trophy cabinets after their efforts at the recent national titles in Perth.

Adams, a Level 8 gymnast, returned with two medals.

The 13-year-old helped Queensland win gold in the team event and also finished first in the floor section.

She also came fourth in the beam and sixth overall in her level.

See-Kee, a Level 9 gymnast, finished with three medals.

The 15-year-old won gold for Queensland in the team event, silver in the overall competition, bronze in the vault and also finished fifth in the floor and bar.

Barron Valley Gymnastics head coach Jessica Reynolds said the girls performed beyond expectations.

"I think they both really surprised themselves," she said.

Reynolds said the girls’ next event was the national club championships in Canberra in November.
