IT was one of the biggest days in Cairns music history.

TimeOUT’s Day in the Park on Saturday was an overwhelming success, with the crowd, bands and organisers all singing the same tune.

"It was definitely the best event we’ve ever run," The Cairns Post’s entertainment editor, Jesse Kuch, said.

"The bands were actually all saying how it was one of the smoothest run and best festivals they had played in a long time.

"The crowd was the most pumped I’ve ever seen.

"I don’t think we could have been more happy with the result."

With acts such as Bliss N Eso, The Butterfly Effect, Gyroscope, Art vs Science, Bag Raiders, Minx and Lisa Mitchell on the bill, it was sure to be a day out music-lovers would not soon forget.

The Cairns Post marketing manager Kate Volcov said with about 9000 people in attendance, almost 2000 more people attended the event than last year. "It was a really good day, the venue got fully utilised, including the second stage, which was down on the Lagoon," she said.

"All of the bands came back to us and said they had a ball and it was a great audience to perform to, so it was awesome."
