Warbirds take skies over Atherton Tableland
TOP gun aerobatic pilots will return to the Far North this weekend to thrill the crowd at the annual Far North Queensland Mareeba Warbird Airshow.
The Royal Australian Air Force Roulettes are visiting from Sale, Victoria, for the show tomorrow, which
will also include a not-to-be-missed F-111 aircraft flypast.
Warbird director Mike Spaulding said the region was lucky to attract the accomplished pilots for a second year.
"We had them here last year as well and it’s really unheard of that they go to the same place two years in a row," he said.
"The air force pilots are the best of the best.
"Their performance will be one of the big attractions."
The airshow, held at Mareeba airport, will also feature a Harley Davidson motorcycle versus Warbird drag race and a huge display of classic cars, Warbirds and military vehicles.
Tickets can be bought at the gate. Adults $25, children $5, families $50.
