While Australia waits to see which way the maverick North Queensland MP will swing, the man who’s been described as a kingmaker has gone on to become an internet phenomenon.

Mr Katter has quickly become the subject of a series of dubious “facts” about him that are attracting international attention on Twitter.
One of the facts make the independent MP out to be even tougher than the world’s toughest man, 80s action movie star Chuck Norris: “Chuck Norris wears Bob Katter pyjamas.”
Another takes a swipe at Mr Katter’s legendary dislike of technology: “Bob Katter has tweeted once and only once because he’s had enough of talk”, and even “Bob Katter doesn’t Tweet: Twitter Bob Katters.’’
And another couple of facts make light of his well-known politics: “Bob Katter thinks that The Greens are a side dish to go with his steak and potato.’’, and even “Bob Katter was bullied as a child by a Filipino banana.’’
