timeOUT Day In The Park Rock Journalist competition winners
HAVE you ever dreamt of going behind the scenes at the city's biggest and best festival event?
Two lucky motivated young local writers get the chance to do just that, after taking out timeOUT’s inaugural Rock Journalist competition this week.
Tutored by The Cairns Post’s entertainment editor Jesse Kuch, 21-year-old Caitlin Williams and 17-year-old Daniel Green will be charged with covering all aspects of timeOUT Day In The Park on August 13, including band interviews, music reviews and photojournalism.
For their efforts, they take home an Apple iPhone 4 and a backstage experience of a lifetime alongside acts like The Living End, Drapht, British India and Nina Las Vegas.
Ms Williams is a fan of The Living End and is relishing the chance to interview her favourite Australian band.
"The chance to get up close and personal with The Living End as a journalist is a dream come true,’’ she said.
Tickets $80 from The Cairns Post at 22-24 Abbott St, Cairns or phone 4052 6934.
8 timeOUT Day In The Park is on Saturday, August 13 at Fogarty Park. Collect 12 tokens (inside The Cairns Post), attach them to the form and return them to us by July 22 for a $25 ticket to this year’s biggest live music festival.
