ICONIC children's television character Cookie Monster is best known for his voracious appetite and famous eating phrases: "Me want cookie!" and "Me eat cookie!" Watch him meet some of our favourite crocs.

Yesterday the Sesame Street star was shocked into silence by Goliath, the enormous 4m estuarine crocodile star attraction at Cairns Wildlife Dome.

Cookie Monster entertained Japanese tourists and delighted children, took part in the croc feeding and cradled juvenile Johnstone River crocodile Tom - who obviously enjoyed the experience as he fell asleep in Cookie's arms.

Earlier children at Just Kids Early Education House enjoyed a rare opportunity to meet the famous “googly eyed” blue monster before the rest of the Sesame Street gang arrive in town for the opening of the brand new theatre show Sesame Street Presents Elmo’s World Tour at the Cairns Civic Theatre on April 10. Tickets on sale now, call 4050 7750.

Crocodiles were flavour of the day on our website yesterday, with our video of Green Island's Cassius passing one million views. According to colleagues in Sydney, this is most viewed video ever produced by News Ltd Australia.
