Jamar Wilson re-signs for Cairns Taipans
THE Cairns Taipans have got their man, with star import Jamar Wilson re-signing for two seasons.
The 28-year-old New Yorker had an outstanding debut season for the Snakes, leading the team in scoring and assists, and finishing second in voting for the NBL’s Most Valuable Player.Wilson said it was an easy decision to remain in Cairns.
“I fell in love with Cairns the first week I was here,” he said.
“The sunshine, the people, the place, and that was even before I got on the playing court.
Taipans coach Aaron Fearne, who re-signed for a further three seasons last month, said retaining Wilson was a huge boost to the club.
“He is obviously a pretty special player and to have him here for another two seasons is fantastic,” he said.
“I believe this team will see a lot of success with Jamar as our point guard.”
