Local blogger Michael Moore given third chance to file defence
CAIRNS blogger Michael Moore has been given three months to file another defence to the $350,000 defamation lawsuit being brought against him.
Former Cairns councillor Alan Blake launched action in 2010 against Mr Moore, who runs CairnsBlog.net, claiming he had been brought into ridicule and contempt as a result of content published on the website.
Yesterday, Cairns Supreme Court Justice Jim Henry said Mr Moore had provided "no evidence whatsoever" in support of the defences he was relying on.
He gave Mr Moore until September 26 to file another defence, which will be his third attempt.
