Uke Art Exhibition launch tonight
Cairns Ukulele Festival kicks off with its signature art event tonight at Tanks Arts Centre, featuring a colourful selection of painted ukes.
Featuring dozens of ukuleles, creatively hand-decorated by established and emerging artists, the exhibition is your chance to take home a piece of painted ukulele history, with all money raised going to a good cause.
No brief was given: the artists were invited to use their own creative talents to develop a unique uke creation.
The result is a very eclectic collection with something for all tastes.
All ukuleles will be sold through a silent auction.
Bids commence on opening night and close at 8pm on Sunday 8 July (access after 5pm on this day only).
All profits are being donated to COUCH, a local cancer charity.
