SPECIAL COMMENT: It's with more than a bit of excitement this week that I announce changes are afoot here at your favourite weekly entertainment guide.

After well over 10 years as Cairns’ premiere entertainment publication, this week’s issue of timeOUT is the last you’ll see in its current format. But don’t worry... we’re definitely not going anywhere!

Next week, we return at the same bat time on the same bat channel (pun definitely intended), with a brighter, bolder and more dynamic weekly entertainment lift-out, with the added bonus of joining one of the nation’s biggest and most respected print and online entertainment mastheads, Hit.

What this means for you, our loyal readers, is not only all the awesome local entertainment, arts and party news, interviews and reviews you’ve come to know and love, but also an injection of top level content from across News Limited’s entire national network and the country’s very best entertainment writers.

After three-and-a-half years as editor of timeOUT, I’m both excited and proud to helm this new publication for Far North Queensland and I hope that you enjoy reading it as much as I do putting it together. Thanks to everyone who has supported timeOUT over the years and I look forward to this continuing as we move into a new exciting world of awesomeness!
