Man sentenced to three years jail for sex assault
A 22-YEAR-old man who sexually assaulted a Gordonvale woman while she slept in her bed beside her husband has been sentenced to three years jail.
Caleb Gesa was today convicted of one count of entering a dwelling and one count of sexual assault in the Cairns District Court over the incident which occurred on April 22, 2011 at around 3.30am.
The court heard Gesa fled the house after the woman awoke and discovered him lying between her legs and woke her husband, who was sleeping beside her.
He was sentenced to three years jail, although will be eligible to apply for parole immediately.
