Another big day of delights across the city from the first weekend of Cairns Festival in 2012.

CIAF at Cairns Cruise Liner Terminal Friday
FREE. From 10 am to 6pm.  For information, www.ciaf.com.au
 
JCU Open Day at Smithfield Campus
FREE.  From 10am to 2pm
 
Children’s Village at The Village on Esplanade (The Pavilion)
FREE.  10am to 4pm. Make a “Kid’s Longest Print” with Inkmasters artists, storytellers, KickArts mini-zine workshops and performance workshops.
 
Napolean Oui Rainforest ID Artist Talk at KickArts
FREE. 11am to 12 noon.  Gallery 2.  Artist, Napolean Oui will discuss his new body of work.
 
Music Botanica at Cairns Botanic Gardens
From 12.30pm to 6pm. Featuring Sarah Blasko and Holly Throsby. Tickets from www.ticketlink.com.au or the gate.

Roving Entertainment at The Village on Esplanade (Throughout The Village)
The Bower People and Igor and His Evil Genius.

SKA B Que at The Village on Esplanade (The Performery)
FREE. From 1pm to 6pm. Local bands playing their latest originals to some classic old school Ska with a healthy mix of barbie action.

The Minute Exhibit at The Village on Esplanade (The Palace)
Gold Coin Donation.  2pm to 4pm.  The Minute Exhibit.  The original red velvet one minute box features a tiny art curator preparing an exhibition in his gallery.  Cute, funny and surprising.  Suitable for ages five and up.

Food & Film at Arthouse
From 6pm. Tickets $12/$10 at www.onedgeart.com or the door.

Movies That Matter – The Oneness Project at City Place
FREE. 7pm. The oneness project is a series of short films from around the world exploring the idea that we are all one human race.
