I live on the Esplanade with my partner, Nathan, and I really enjoy city life.

We are pretty lucky to live in town, and living in town means we spend a lot of time out on the Esplanade.

We like to dine at the restaurants with family and friends or have a barbecue at home in the evening.

I’m pretty much always in the CBD.

On a Friday night, we usually get a takeaway when we come home from work and a bottle of wine, and then sit on the balcony to enjoy the sunset.

On Saturdays, we like to go to Rusty’s Markets and otherwise go and get the groceries.

I like to take a bike ride along the Esplanade in the afternoon or maybe go to the movies, and go for a cocktail
with girlfriends.

Saturday nights are usually spent having dinner with friends or family. I really love having dinner parties.

Sundays are lazy and taken at a very leisurely pace.

We usually have brunch somewhere on Grafton St with friends and family.

Sometimes I’ll have a bike ride in the afternoon, and then maybe go to see a film.

I also like to go to the Tanks Markets.

My family lives in Freshwater so we usually go out to them at some stage. They have a cane farm and it’s a nice break from city life.

Sunday evenings are for a quiet time at home getting ready for work the next day.

We have only recently moved into our apartment so we still have some renovations, and a few other things, to do. Really, renovating has become the weekend-filler.

I like to go and see some live music or some theatre.

I used to work for JUTE, so I go and see something there as often as possible.

Last Friday we went to see The McMenamins at the Centre of Contemporary Arts and then went out for dinner.

They were fantastic.

Sometimes on Sundays we like to go and see an End Credits movie.

I also love vintage shopping in Cairns, although that is not always a weekend thing.

I try to take advantage of living on the Esplanade as much as possible, and so I often take my niece and nephew to Muddy’s Playground.

My favourite part of the world is Cairns.

We did go on holidays to Japan last year and loved it, so we’ll want to go back there at some stage.

Overall, my favourite way to unwind is to sit out on my veranda, and look at the sunset.

My favourite music at the moment is by Lana Del Rey. I love her music!

She’s an American indie singer-songwriter and is a bit like Nancy Sinatra.

We have a record player that we got from my partner’s parents so we are really enjoying playing old records on it.
