Sketch from Bombs Away is having his birthday in Cairns on Friday night and wants you to come party.

Australian dance stars Bombs Away know a few things about chucking a party.

However when it comes to one half of the duo’s big birthday celebration, instead of heading south to a major capital city, Stretch is bringing the party north to us for one big night this Friday at Gilligan’s.

Bombs Away are one of the country’s true major success stories in dance music of the past decade.

The Gold-selling party boys are one of the few acts to hold down five concurrent spots and Top10s on the ARIA, iTunes, Beatport, DJDownload and DJTunes charts, alongside singles Get Stoopid, Big Booty B-----, Swagger and Supersoaker all rocking high rotation on nearly every major music television show and radio station of note.

With two consecutive No1 singles on the ARIA charts, Bombs Away were also recently voted No1 artist in Australia and No32 in the world on THEDJLIST.com, alongside having one of the Top100 YouTube channels in Australia.

To ensure the party is up to Sketch’s high standards, the man has invited Gold Coast DJ duo The Twins and fellow Bomb Squad member Dixie along for the ride, ensuring Friday night will be rocking well into the wee hours.

You’ll remember The Twins as one of the headline acts to this year’s Sinner’s Ball, with Dixie also a regular up at The Attic.

Sketch says he actually personally requested his booking agency Ministry Of Sound to make sure he had his birthday date in Cairns, coinciding with the release of Bombs Away’s new single Party Bass.

“It’s the best up here, we knew the weather was going to be perfect so we hit up Ministry to make sure to book this date here,” he says.

“We’re just about to go bungy jumping and scuba diving, I’m actually going to try and ride an inflatable boat off the bungy tower.

“It should be good on Friday, we’ve got a whole crew up with us.

“It’s all about that Party Bass, our new single. We’re filming the clip next week, check it out. See everybody there.”
