Edmonton police car rammer cops two years' probation
11am: A CAIRNS man has been sentenced to two years' probation for a car-ramming incident at a police station during which he caused more than $32,000 worth of damage.
Joshua Timothy Hiles, 21, pleaded guilty to seven charges relating to the August 18 incident and was sentenced in the Cairns Magistrates’ Court this morning.
The court heard he was a well-respected carpenter and was deeply troubled at the time, but was working through his problems with the help of his family and employer.
His licence was also disqualified for six months.
