Rookie Cairns model enjoys quick rise to success
CAIRNS beauty Zoe Rappolt is edging closer to international modelling success, despite the fact she has been in the industry for less than a year.
Ms Rappolt, 25, who grew up near Cooktown, left for Sydney yesterday to compete against 20 other beauties in the national finals of the World Supermodel Pageant, after winning the Cairns leg of the event in July.
If she wins the Ms Australia crown, Miss Rappolt will travel to Fiji for the world final next week and receive more than $3000 worth of prizes.
Ms Rappolt, who is signed with Cairns modelling agency Lulu's Model Management, said she was confident going into the competition, even if she was a little shocked at her quick success.
"People used to tell me all the time that because I'm really tall, I should give it a go," she said.
"I'm grateful and really enjoying it."
The final involves two days of events, including a health and nutrition presentation, a glamorous ball, interviews and a cocktail function.
The winner will be announced tonight.
Ms Rappolt said she has particularly enjoyed the social side of the competition.
"It's great to meet all the girls, I've never been to Sydney," she said.
