Horse freed from creek after overnight ordeal near Ravenshoe
11am: FIRE crews have helped to free a horse that was trapped overnight in a creek near Ravenshoe.
The animal was freed around 10.45am following its overnight ordeal, but it believed to be in good condition and not suffering any major after effects.
The property owners worked with fire crews, with a backhoe on scene to pull the horse out.
The incident comes just days after nine fire fighters and three volunteers were honoured by the RSPCA for the rescue of a horse from a Herberton mine shaft in July.
