Attempted murder charge for Cooktown man Marcus John Whittaker
A 36-YEAR-OLD Cooktown man has been remanded in custody to hear an attempted murder charge in January next year after a serious incident earlier this week.
The man was arrested after police were allegedly called to an Idress Dr, Cooktown, address around 7.40pm on November 19 following reports of an altercation.
Police found a 31-year-old woman with a laceration to her forearm, a 59-year-old man with lacerations to his hands, shoulder and leg and a 36-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his shoulder.
Mr Whittaker is also charged with assault occasioning bodily harm, common assault, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unlicensed driving and possession of a dangerous drug.
He has been remanded to appear in court on January 23, 2013.
Police investigations are continuing.
