Cairns charity grinners help others to become winners
DONATING to charity has never been so easy simply flash your pearly whites and you're on your way.
New charity Give Smiles, the brainchild of Cairns women Bernice Cooper and Carrie Lui, asks members of the public to donate photographs of their grins and inspiring messages online, to brighten someone's day.
Mrs Cooper said the charity was created to bring hope to people feeling low.
"Sometimes it's just about love and what a smile can bring other people," she said.
"It's a simple way to encourage others and bring them hope."
The pair will host a marquee at the Esplanade on Saturday, where people can photograph their smiles and upload them to the charity's website.
Mrs Cooper said she hoped the Cairns community would be generous with their smiles.
"We're not worried about money, and a smile doesn't cost anything," she said.
"Join us and donate your best smiles at the Esplanade. Loads of prizes will be given to the best smiles and messages on the day."
The event will kick off at 8am at the Seagull area of the Esplanade.
