Kuranda entertainment venue The Billabong has been firing on all cylinders in 2012, hosting a series of major music events alongside its regular weddings and corporate functions.

This New Year's Eve, it's turning it on for a big celebration of local live music in the rainforest, featuring popular local rockers Zilch, Sworf, Peyote and Jobstopper (pictured), alongside The Billabong DJs, colourful roving performers and a big fire spectacular.

No matter the weather, The Billabong's undercover saloon bar, comfortable facilities and lush rainforest surrounds make a perfect new year's playground, far from the big crowds in the CBD and chock full of Far North Queensland's most rocking live music sounds.

The Billabong New Year's Eve Party featuring Zilch, Sworf, Peyote, Jobstopper and The Billabong DJs is on Monday night, from 6pm-late. Tickets $25/$20 at the door. Free shuttle bus service from Kuranda village.
