AN ATHERTON man has died following a motorcycle crash in Malanda last night.

The 40-year-old was believed to have been travelling along Lake Barrine Rd around 7.25pm when he lost control and struck a storm drain.

He suffered critical injuries and died at the scene a short time later.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the crash.
