Cairns twins aim to stitch up Crucial style market
CREATIVE twins, 20-year-old Lachy and Sean Thomas, are kicking off the year with fashion on the brain.
The pair, who grew up in Mossman, launched clothing label Crucial Apparel in June last year, after years of admiring the art and trends of tattoo culture and extreme sports.
With a youth-oriented collection of intricate designs emblazoned on a variety of staples for guys and girls, the twins are hoping 2013 will see Crucial Apparel hit new heights.
Sean, who lives in Cairns, said it was a thrill to wear his own label.
"We're trying to set our own trends and start our own style based on our interests," he said.
"It's great to wear something you've created yourself. We have T-shirt and hoodie designs, snap-backs and some summer singlets. We hope to branch into pants and jeans in the near future."
Lachy, who is based at Port Douglas, said starting the label has been a learning curve but worth the effort.
"We haven't done anything like this before. It has been self-taught but it has been a lot of fun," he said.
