A FACEBOOK site encouraging people to post pictures of the "hottest teens" in Cairns has prompted a warning by police that participants could be targeted by predators.

Taskforce Argos, the state's anti-pedophile unit, is monitoring the site, which attracted almost 2000 followers after it was set up last Sunday.

Users are asked to send in photographs and names of Cairns' "hottest teens" so people visiting the unsecured and anonymous page could "like" or comment on the images.
