TELSTRA has warned Far Northern customers could face more disruptions after a day of outages hit business transactions, delayed flights and crippled emergency service lines.

Services began to return late yesterday after thousands of Telstra customers had a communication blackout as landline, mobile and internet services went down on Sunday night.

Technicians in helicopters braved wet weather to begin repairs at a damaged cable in Colosseum, south of Gladstone.
