KEWARRA Beach dad Rob Moffatt enjoys reading to his sons Benji and Declan.

"We read to them most days," he said.

"It's very important for their learning.

"It's good to start them off young so they can see pictures and identify what words are at a young age."

With The Cairns Post's Mini Book promotion, it has never been easier to foster a love of reading at home.

Starting tomorrow, eight of Australia's much-loved classic picture books will be available with the daily paper, until Sunday, February 10.

Graeme Base's Animalia and a collector library book bag are free with a token from tomorrow's The Sunday Mail, while seven other iconic titles, including Lynley Dodd's Hairy Maclary From Donaldson's Dairy and Mem Fox's Hunwick's Egg, can be snapped up daily with The Cairns Post tokens and just $2 next week.

Mr Moffatt said he was keen to add more iconic Australian books to Benji and Declan's collection.

"Classic Australian books are the things you remember from your childhood," he said.

Don't forget to pick up a free book bag and copy of Animalia with tomorrow's The Sunday Mail and collect a token from The Cairns Post on Monday to grab Graeme Base's Uno's Garden at newsagents for $2. tag Call 4052 6665 for a list of participating newsagents.
