BREAKING NEWS: A 29-YEAR-old Western Australian man was denied bail today after allegedly breaking into two elderly women's homes in Wongaling Beach and attempting to rape them.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared in Innisfail Magistrates Court this afternoon charged with three counts of rape, two counts of stealing, enter dwelling with intent and assault with intent and one count of possession of a dangerous drug.

The court was told the man entered a Holland St house between 3-4am on Wednesday morning and raped the female resident, before stealing two purses and keys and fleeing.

She was transported to the Innisfail Hospital following the incident.

The court also heard he entered the home of another woman late last year and attempted to sexually assault her, but she fought him off.

The man concented to undergo disease testing in court yesterday.
