Jobs to go from Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service in restructure
BREAKING NEWS: Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service has announced up to 190 permanent and 44 temporary jobs will go under a cost-cutting restructure announced this morning.
Announced by Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Board chair Bob Norman, the cuts will target administration positions.
Voluntary redundancies will be offered first, then mandatory cuts made.
The attrition will also be made through the merging of temporary jobs and affected staff will be able to apply for vacant positions.
Executive staff will meet with employees over the next two days to discuss options.
