Toxic drug lab in Far North Queensland raided
FAR Northern police were forced to call in forensic chemists from Brisbane to inspect a highly toxic drug laboratory they deemed too dangerous to enter themselves.
Government chemists yesterday seized chemicals and equipment suspected of being used to produce methamphetamines from a Tableland home, which was raided by the Far Northern Drug Squad and local police late on Tuesday.
Detective Sen-Sgt Kevin Goan said police feared the property contained toxic fumes caused by ingredients such as phosphine and hydrochloride.
